In 1978, Dennis Schatz and Woody Schaut founded Quala-Die, Inc. Work began as a two-man operation out of Denny’s basement with only one surface grinder, determination, and a dream. Due to increased demand in the Powder Compaction industry, the two-man operation quickly outgrew Denny’s basement shop and his single surface grinder.

As the company flourished and expanded into larger facilities, Quala-Die remained dedicated to manufacturing quality tooling and advancing technology to stay at the forefront of the precision machining industry. The company is known as a World Class manufacturer of precision compaction and extrusion tooling that continually leverages the most advanced machine tool technology available in the market.

Today, Quala-Die, Inc. is located in St. Mary’s PA, “The Heart of Powdered Metal Compaction Technology”. The 43,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility is one of the most precise, efficient, modern, and well-equipped operations in the Powdered Compaction Tooling and Precision Machining industries.

In October 2016, Penn United Technologies, Inc. acquired Quala-Die as part of a long-term strategic focus to provide manufacturing solutions for customers through precision tooling competency and engineering services. Penn United is a large precision manufacturing service provider, head quartered in Cabot PA. At Quala-Die Our policy is to provide Quality Tooling that will meet or exceed our customers requirements and deliveries through continual improvements
